I love this product. No electric smell. It works great, just hook it up to your battery, turn it on, and plug something in. It does draw power when it's hooked up, even when it's off, so do not leave it plugged into the source power. I was able to easily power 110-volt things from this device. It doesn't seem to get hot. The connections that are included and the connectors on the back of the unit are very easy to use. There is a power LED indicator. The USB power is a great extra.
