The button has a 12v battery, and I don't know where to find those. The 12v battery slot doesn't hold the battery in place, but rather just has two contacts in mid air. The receiver is built better, with a housing for the two AAA batteries (not included). At first nothing worked, but after inserting the batteries again, it made connection and started working, however vibrations prevented it from functioning, so make sure not to shake it or bump it.
