They are important to me, because I'm always getting tangled in the cords, and my headphone jack on my phone takes a beating. This way I can mow the lawn, answer calls, and do other work, without any issues. The sound isn't the most amazing sound I've ever heard before, but it is deep and warm sounding. The headphones fit in my ear perfectly, and click together with the magnets. They don't shut off until I disconnect them from whatever device they are paired with.
