All you have to do is dial in the pressure, and it pumps until it reaches that pressure, and then shuts off. Both PSI and Metric units. The length of the hose is good, as well as how it is stored around the outside. As for the power cable, it's very long, but it only works on certain cars. It wouldn't work in my Nissan Pathfinder, however it did work in the Mercury Grand Marque. The light on the front is a bonus, because you always need a light at night. Make sure to test it with your cigarette lighter, and if it doesn't work, replace your cigarette lighter with one that works with this pump. Everything worked just fine.
